I was crafting an anecdotal response to another blog titled “Why Evolution is True” and my Husband, Terry, who was hovering behind me, seemingly concerned I was typing so much said “Why are you typing so much, you go overboard, who writes that much?” I scrolled up and showed him, it’s a blog and I’m telling a story. Now, that story wasn’t particularly well crafted, I rambled and jumped about, but after his comment I felt that maybe I was spending too much time on something that not many people would actually read. I ended up falling down a different rabbit hole and signed up for a blog.
When I spend time on Facebook, I feel like I can’t get my point across without rambling, or cutting my thoughts short for the sake of the folks that have the attention span of a butterfly thanks to social networks like Twitter and Instagram. I decided a blog would be a good way to satisfy my irritations, observations and anecdotes spawned by people who just push the share button because the sound bite resonated somehow with them and no one reads their posts, or that some mishap will befall them if they don’t share the meme etc… I can now rant about something and not feel as if I may alienate my in-laws, relatives, people used to work with, or went to school with. This might be my only post. I hope not, I would like to think my typing voice will somehow resonate positively with others of like mind, or at the very least a way to ease my frustration or desire to speak/write my mind. So, this is uneventfully my first blog.
